Mentoring Matters

Many people are familiar with the proverb, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.” This proverb illustrates that although it takes much longer to teach someone how to do something rather than do it for them, sharing knowledge brings lasting benefits. SCABB Association is a great place to start if you are looking to broaden your network or learn new skills in transfusion medicine and leadership.  There are many like these opportunities through the support of the SCABB Association and Protégé Mentorship Program (PMP).

The Protégé Mentorship Program (PMP) which provides a unique, interactive educational opportunity that fosters a passion for Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine as long-term career choices. We will match you with a mentor, a person who shares his or her knowledge and expertise with one or more people who have less experience. Protégés will also find value in the networking opportunities inherent in the process which will afford them access to various view points and benchmarking opportunities they might otherwise never acquire.  Ultimately, it is expected that Protégés will continue their involvement in the Association, thus furthering their careers by developing new skills through educational opportunities and growth experiences, and advance the value of the Association to its members as well as to the Protégés employer.

What are you waiting for? Are you ready to enhance your skills and carrier? For more information or how to apply please visit our SCABB website.
