American Red Cross (ARC) Blood Services is seeking an Assistant Medical Director for our Lewis and Clark Region. This position will be based out of our Las Vegas, Nevada facility. The position will primarily be responsible for Nevada but will assist with coverage for Utah, Idaho, and Montana.
This position will be responsible for medical coverage of the regional blood center, including three reference laboratories and an active Clinical Services program with therapeutic apheresis and peripheral blood stem cell collections. You will coordinate medical communications between the blood services region, the local and national medical community, and ARC National Headquarters; support the goals and objectives of the organization by providing accurate and timely medical and technical consultation in transfusion medicine to all operational areas of the region and as appropriate to its customers; and promote Red Cross products to the regional medical community.
Qualifications include M.D. or D.O. degree with post-graduate training in blood banking/transfusion medicine is required. Knowledge of current/projected trends in transfusion medicine/blood banking and hospital health care is desirable as well as knowledge of medical/technical principles of blood center operations. Must be licensed in the state of the primary site of the region and all states served by the region and/or Division, as needed. Minimum two years experience in blood banking/transfusion medicine, or related field, or completion of a blood banking/transfusion medicine fellowship required.

Operations Performance Manager
Established in 1977, Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) is ranked among the top fifteen non-profit regional blood centers in America providing blood to patients in more than 125 medical facilities in Oklahoma, north Texas, and western Arkansas with the help of nearly 700 employees working with as many as 800 volunteers and 2,600 drive coordinators. In addition to its headquarters and laboratories, OBI maintains four donor centers in the Oklahoma City area with regional centers in Tulsa, Lawton, Enid, Ardmore, and Ada. The Operations Performance Manager will focus on the staff performance of key metrics for the donor services Oklahoma City Fixed-Site operations. The Manager will develop programs and work with individual staff to ensure key metric goals are achieved. Overall success will be realized with an acceptable incomplete, deferral, PLAP split rate and error rate in addition to donor conversion and excellent customer service scores. The Manager will also support the Fixed-Site Operations Manager in areas of discipline and annual review as needed.
Qualifications include:
Post Secondary education required, bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of three years supervisory or management experience, blood bank focus helpful; valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle; strong leadership, customer service, technical and organizational skills; excellent Excel and Power Point skills; ability to track and trend data; flexibility to work a variety of hours throughout the week including weekends; trained or willing to be trained in all apheresis technologies organic to area of responsibility.

Medical Technologist – The Blood Center (Southeast Louisiana)
The Blood Center is seeking a full-time Med Tech for our Reference Lab and transfusion service. Qualified candidate will perform molecular testing, routine and complex transfusion service testing and assist area hospitals in the resolution of unexpected serologic results. Position requires excellent organizational, communication and computer skills and a MT (ASCP) with a LA CLS license – blood banking experience is preferred!
